Frequently Asked Questions
Direct Pay & Out-of-Network Care

What is Direct Pay?

Direct Pay is an option that allows patients to pay directly for their care at clearly listed prices. This approach removes uncertainty and allows you to know the cost of your care upfront.

Direct Pay is commonly used by patients who are out-of-network, have high deductibles, or prefer transparent pricing.

Do I have to use Direct Pay?

No. If we are in-network with your insurance plan, we will continue to work within that framework for covered services.

Direct Pay is primarily used for:

• Out-of-network patients

• Non-covered services

We will help you understand your options.

Can I submit my Direct Pay visit to my insurance for reimbursement?

Yes. We can provide a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company. Reimbursement depends on your individual plan and benefits.

If you are in-network with my insurance, can I still choose Direct Pay?

If we are in-network with your insurance plan, we are contractually required to submit claims for covered services and follow your insurance plan’s fee schedule.

Direct Pay pricing applies to patients who are out-of-network or receiving services that are not covered by insurance.

Our team will help clarify your options so you understand what applies to your specific situation.

Will I know the cost before treatment?

Yes. We believe in full transparency. We will review pricing with you before proceeding with any treatment, especially procedures or regenerative therapies.

Why do some treatments fall under Direct Pay?

Some treatments—especially regenerative medicine therapies—are not covered by most insurance plans. Direct Pay allows patients access to these advanced treatment options without insurance restrictions.

Examples include:

• Shockwave therapy (EPAT)

• Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

• MLS Level IV Laser Therapy

• Lunula Laser (fungal nails)

• Swift wart treatment

Are injections performed with imaging guidance?

Yes. All injections in our office are performed using ultrasound guidance. This allows precise placement of the treatment and improves safety and effectiveness.

Will insurance cover regenerative treatments like PRP, EPAT, or laser therapy?

Most insurance plans do not cover these treatments. Because of this, they are offered through Direct Pay with transparent pricing.

We will discuss all options with you before proceeding.

Can I choose which treatments I receive?

Yes. Medical decisions are always made collaboratively between you and your physician. We will explain your options and help you choose the treatment plan that aligns with your goals and preferences.

Is Direct Pay more expensive than using insurance?

Not necessarily. Many patients with high deductibles or limited coverage find Direct Pay to be simpler and more predictable.

Direct Pay eliminates:

• Surprise bills

• Insurance denials

• Delays in treatment approval

What makes your practice different?

We focus on:

• Direct physician involvement

• Transparent pricing

• Advanced diagnostic tools such as ultrasound

• Regenerative treatment options

• Individualized care without insurance-driven limitations

Who is Direct Pay best suited for?

Direct Pay is often ideal for:

• Out-of-network patients

• Patients with high deductibles

• Patients seeking regenerative treatments

• Patients who value transparent pricing and faster access to care

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit includes:

• Comprehensive evaluation

• Review of imaging if needed

• Discussion of treatment options

• Clear explanation of costs before proceeding
